Pakistan failed in England:Reasons and positives!

Pakistan recently lost the ODI series in England ahead of the world cup 2019, which is the biggest tournament of world cricket. This was confirmed when Pakistan lost to England in a final over finisher in Trent Bridge on 17th May 2019 in the 4th ODI.

So, this quote above exquisitely describes the situation Pakistan cricket is facing. In the ongoing series in England, Pakistani batsmen scored 3 hundreds in 3 games and you expect a team to win the match or to be in a stable position after this, but, on the contrary, Pakistan still gave away an unassailable lead to the number one ODI team in the world.

Babar’s ‘selfish’ century

Babar Azam’s 115 off 112 balls destroyed the match there and then restricting them to score only 340 which is a par score in Trent Bridge.

Even though, the bowlers tried to bring the match back to Pakistan, Junaid Khan, misfired in most of the crunch moments and caused Pakistan to lose yet another close- match.

Apparently out of the world cup squad

Even though Pakistan lost some matches which they shouldn’t have but they played two close matches with the world’s best odi team in the shape of the first and 4th ODI which could really enhance their experience of playing the top level and acclimatize them for the world Cup.

Pakistan’s batting has been the main issue ever since this team came into being and now we can actually see a long leap of Pakistani batting which relies heavily on stats and technology. Nurtured by the Head Coach, Mickey Arthur in the last 3, 4 years, this team has a consistent batting finally and if minced with decent bowling and fielding, this team could actually make it!
